Smarter Than The Average Bear? Doubtful

August 14, 2010

We saw the trailer for this film while waiting for Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore today.

Starring Dan Aykroyd as Yogi and Justin Timberlake as Boo-Boo. I am not making that up. And as you just saw, the movie looks and sounds absolutely terrible. Even my daughter, who loves any movie involving CGI or talking animals, which is why we are at Cats and Dogs, turned up her nose at it. “Daddy,” she stage-whispered despite the empty cinema, “That looks like a crap classic.”

It probably won’t be as bad as Cats and Dogs, which almost put me to sleep a couple of times. Despite the voice talents of Bette Midler, Michael Clarke Duncan, Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Applegate, Nick Nolte, Wallace Shawn, that annoying guy from Will and Grace, James Marsden and Roger Moore, and real-life “acting” from Chris O’Donnell, this flick failed on every possible level. In related news, Chris O’Donnell is still an actor, kind of.

  1. Anna Faris. Ugh. Just ugh. She is terrible, and any movie starring her is doomed. But Tom Cavanagh is awesome. Why can’t he get some big-budget comedy roles? After all, he’s Canadian.

    • I have to disagree with you about Anna Faris. She makes bad movie choices, but when she’s on, she’s ON. Just Friends is a perfect example of that. This is a tragically underrated Ryan Reynolds comedy; she plays a Britney Spears type and, along with genius comic Chris Marquette, steals the movie.
