The Origins Of Hip-Hop

You probably thought it originated in the ghettos of New York during the 1970s, when party DJs began mixing and scratching old rock, funk and soul records. Or maybe you believe rap grew from the dancehalls of the Caribbean, where toasters would keep the party going all night. If you believed those things, you’re probably stupid. We now know hip-hop has origins far older, and far more significant, than previously believed. This also explains The Beastie Boys.
