Worst Music Video Ever of the Week: Eddie Murphy, Party All The TimeJune 9, 2010
If you don’t know about this song, I envy you. This came along just as Eddie Murphy’s star was peaking, and unlike earlier musical attempts (Boogie In Your Butt comes to mind), this seemed to be Eddie’s shot at becoming a legitimate R&B singer. It isn’t a bad song. It isn’t a good song. But because he was such a star, it had massive airplay in 1983 or whenever it came out. I can’t be bothered to check.
What I find interesting is the meeting of the minds between Eddie and Rick James. Later, Eddie would claim he had just stopped to offer Rick a ride, and he had no idea how all this weird shit happened.
