Star Trek: Kelvin

June 9, 2009

I just thought I’d share this nifty piece of video.

  1. According to Gene Roddenberry, you need two warp nacelles.

  2. Actually the Kelvin has no visible warp engines. What I had assumed was a single nacelle above the primary hull has a shuttle bay at the rear. Instead there are two ridges running along the port and starboard aft skin of the lower hull. I’d love to see some official blueprints of the Kelvin. I hated it at first, but it has really grown on me. And I’d tune in for that show.

  3. Ok, I may need to revise my thinking on the Kelvin. That lower hull that I thought was another habitable section as well as a warp drive housing of some sort seems to be one huge nacelle. If so, I’m not sure what to think.
