Dear Governor Dion,

Thank you for your recent letter. It does this northern mom’s heart good to know our neighbors is thinking about us as we work through a difficult economic crisis and also an election.

While we have no plans at this time for diplomatic dealings with the Dominion of Canada, I can assure you that we are watching your election campaign with great interest. I speak for my husband, Todd, my children, Track, Bristol, Willow, the other girl and the baby, and also for John McCain and his family when I wish you the best of luck in your pursuit of the presidency of your fine country.

I look forward to meeting you on my first official visit to Canada. Once we have won the White House, I will make it a priority to stop by Toronto so we can discuss ways to take this continent further into the 21st century.

I never been to Canada, despite our close proximity as neighbors. But then again I never been to Russia either! No, when I go to the lower 48 by road I go through British Columbia. But Canada has always been high on my list of places to see!

Good luck in October, Governor Dion. I hope that when next we meet, we will be able to address each other as President (or Vice-President in my case, depending on how flu season goes, but let’s keep that between us governors, OK?).

Yours truly,

Sarah Palin
